hey all! I took last week off, partly because of the holiday week in the US, partly just to have some personal chill time. if u follow me on other social media, u’ll know that I have officially left my position at Withfriends. it has been a long, strange process (I unofficially left at the beginning of May, but, these things take time), and I have a lot of E • MO • TION.
but, I am also excited for new opportunities and projects. first up, in addition to some fun lil contract projects for fav old clients and new industry friends, I’m going to be participating in Materia Abierta in Mexico City this August. very excite! I’m looking forward to having time to make and share some of my own personal work w/ u all. and if u have something in mind (contract work, long term positions for the fall, art collaborations, whatever), HMU!
but most of all thx thx thx to this community for being supportive and chill through a difficult time. ok, onward.
oh ALSO! I will be in NYC from July 17 – 30(ish?? I still haven’t booked my return 😅). so if u are in the area and want to hang IRL (cowork w/ me? at a meetup? at an art event?), LMK!

the WimmelResearch Fellowship has an open call for projects on the theme of “Immortality & Disruptive Materials”:
What fabric is our world made of: energy, thoughts, dark matter? How do we treat these materials: holistically, socially, efficiently? Which role do resources play for human life? Are rare-earth elements the future »Unobtainium« of Pandora? What is the relationship between technological progress and the scarcity of resources? Does sustainability constitute the opposite of efficiency and growth? How can resources be made accessible and for whom? Will our thoughts as energy become rare? Which lifeworld can be created through new materials? What kind of dependencies do intelligent systems have on matter that they are made out of? What is the life span of a raw material? Do we want to use the world or consume it? What does destruction mean for our existence? Is a digital twin immortal? What substances will future human beings consist of?
artists of all disciplines are invited to engage with the theme and apply by July 14! more info available here.
